Whether you’ve been married just a year or two or for 25 years or more, renewing your marriage vows surrounded by your closest family and friends is a truly special moment. Taking time to reaffirm your commitment to each other, and to reflect on how far you have come, helps to prepare you for the next chapter in your lives together. And it’s a great excuse for a party too!
As your celebrant, I will work with you to create a ceremony that suits your style and that everyone will love.
Creating your own vow renewal ceremony
Your vow renewal ceremony can be made up of any elements you choose and I’ll work with you to create a celebration to remember. It could be something intimate for just the two of you or a day shared with those you care about. I love involving your guests with stories and anecdotes about the two of you to bring a bit of fun to the ceremony. Or maybe we could ask your guests to join in a ‘well wishing’ for you both.
If you have children they will (hopefully!) love being part of your ceremony. There are plenty of options to involve little ones and big ones from a family unity circle, to sand blending and humorous poems.
Here is an example of what you could include in your vow renewal ceremony which would last around 30 minutes:
- Entrance of the happy couple to music
- Welcome and opening words about marriage and what it means to you
- Reading or poem selected by you or a friend or relative
- Your love story, which I will create with you
- Anecdotes from family and friends about the two of you
- Exchange of vows, either repeating your original vows or saying something new which I can write with you
- Symbolic exchange of gifts such as rings, other jewellery or a flower
- Certificate signing, accompanied by music of your choice
- Poem or a song selected by you or a friend or relative
- Well wishing from your guests
- Closing words
- Walk down the aisle, take two!
Venues for your vow renewal ceremony
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting a venue for your vow renewal ceremony. This can literally be anywhere you choose. So, think of somewhere meaningful that you’ve enjoyed spending time over the years. This could be in your own home, at your favourite restaurant, or your local National Trust property. Maybe you want to return to your wedding day venue or maybe a gite in Provence is more your style!
I mainly conduct ceremonies in Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire and London but I’m happy to travel anywhere. Anyone for Tuscany?

Let’s start with a chat either online or over a coffee to talk through some ideas and for me to learn a bit about you both. From this initial meeting I will draw up a ceremony plan free of charge. If you would like to go ahead I will ask for a deposit to secure my time as your celebrant. From there I will write a detailed script for you to review and edit until you are completely happy with everything.
My fee is £600 for 2026 and this includes:
- Personal vow renewal ceremony based on your wishes to create your perfect ceremony
- Support and ideas to write your own renewal vows or other special elements if you choose
- Suggestions for poems, music and symbolic gestures to fit your style
- Contact with friends and family members for some anecdotes about you to add a bit of surprise fun
- My undivided attention as your celebrant on the day to ensure your ceremony is perfect
- Vow renewal certificate for you to sign on the day as a record of the moment
- Presentation version of your vow renewal ceremony script sent to you after the day to keep forever
- All travel for meetings, rehearsals and on the day within 50 mile radius of KT11
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance, just in case!
- Alternative Humanist celebrant in the unlikely event that I am unable to perform your ceremony
